Culture and Extension

The  Institute of Geosciences carries out extension activities aimed at society, including activities with communities, companies and governmental and non-governmental institutions. Extension activities are carried out through agreements, contracts, programs, projects, courses, provision of services and other forms of interaction with society.

The extension activities of the Institute of Geosciences refer to the provision of extension courses and the definition of agreements and contracts.

The extension activities are coordinated by the Agreements, Contracts and Provision of Services Commission (CCPS). The CCPS assesses the proposed activities and conducts the formal procedures required to execute them. The activities conducted by the CCPS comply with the requirements of the Extension Council (CONEX) with regard to procedures and ways of processing the processes, whereby the members of the CCPS are the institutional representatives with CONEX.
