Bio

Geologist graduated from the University of Campinas (2004), where he also obtained his Master's (2007), PhD (2010), and Habilitation (2021). He has extensive experience in Geosciences, with an emphasis on metamorphic petrology, structural geology, and metallogenesis. He worked as a mineral exploration geologist in the southern Amazon Craton, focusing on gold prospecting from 2005 to 2007.

Currently, he is an Associate Professor I (MS-5.1) at the Institute of Geosciences at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Metamorphic Petrology, Mineralogy, and Fieldwork. His research focuses on crustal evolution and the metallogenesis of manganese, cobalt, graphite, and lithium deposits in crystalline and metamorphic terrains.

He is a member of two graduate programs at IG/UNICAMP: Geosciences and Teaching History and Earth Sciences. From 2011 to 2013, he was an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), gaining experience in Structural Geology and Geotectonics. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences at Cardiff University, United Kingdom, from March 2018 to March 2019, focusing on isotopic geochemistry applied to the characterization of iron-cobalt-manganese sequences.

He has been involved with the Brazilian Geological Society (BGS) since 2015 and is currently the Vice President of the São Paulo Chapter of BGS.

In addition to his academic and research activities, his hobbies include astrophotography and mountain biking.
