Social Studies of Science and Technology
The Social Studies Group of Science and Technology of UNICAMP's DPCT, created in 1995, is composed of a multidisciplinary team oriented towards understanding the relationships between scientific facts, technological artifacts, public policies and the social, historical, material and cultural contexts in which this knowledge is developed and put into operation. The research carried out aims to analyze, qualitatively and quantitatively, the different forms of production and use of scientific and technological knowledge, their validation, dissemination and cooperation. The studies carried out are expected to produce knowledge that is useful for policy intervention on the regulation of science and technology. The group has a consolidated reputation with the national and international community of the Area, which is reflected in the funding received and in the expressive scientific production. The group has already formed dozens of Masters and Doctors.
